National event encompasses local expertise and hospitality
Meetings & Conventions Calgary is pleased to be a presenting sponsor of National Meetings Industry Day (NMID) in association with MPI Greater Calgary Chapter, on Thursday, April 14th, at the BMO Centre. NMID has been celebrated across Canada for 15 years in eight major cities. Similar events and award presentations are also running in several other cities across Canada.
Each year NMID takes an in-depth look at a topic that enhances the meetings industry. This year distinguished industry experts will discuss the concept of leadership and how strong leaders are imperative to drive the changes needed to take the meetings industry to the next level.
Join Meeting & Conventions Calgary, MPI Greater Calgary Chapter, and Calgary area meeting professionals for this exciting breakfast event (7:30am – 10:00am) on April 14th, at the BMO Centre in the Palomino Ballroom. Bruce Graham, Calgary Economic Development; Bruce Okabe, Travel Alberta; and Alida Visbach, Heritage Park will participate in a lively panel discussion, moderated by Jebb Fink, around this year’s theme – leadership.
The goal of National Meetings Industry Day (NMID) is to raise the profile of the meetings industry and highlight the economic, environmental, and social benefits generated for communities; shape the meetings and events profession; and provide industry-networking opportunities. In addition, each year an individual or group that supports the development of meetings and conventions or the development of policy and programs impacting the industry receives NMID’s Influence Award. This year’s recipient is Spruce Meadows for their internationally renowned venue and equestrian showcase. Spruce Meadows provides a unique venue for meeting planners to consider.
