Hyatt Regency Calgary gets "fresh" with air purifying technology and healthy meeting options

Hyatt Regency Calgary has added its popular “Respire by Hyatt” technology to several of its meeting rooms, providing meeting planners with more choice in providing healthy, green meetings.

Designed for all guests, but especially suited to those with asthma, allergies and other respiratory sensitivities, the Respire by Hyatt – Hypo-Allergenic Rooms, powered by PURE Solutions NA, are designed to eliminate up to 98 per cent of airborne viruses and bacteria, as well as pollen and other irritants commonly found in indoor environments.

“Meeting and event planners are becoming more focused on creating healthy meetings for their teams,” says Herb Rackliff, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Calgary. “We offer hotel-wide environmental initiatives, provide healthy meal options through our catering facilities and use 100 per cent green electricity in our meeting spaces through Bullfrog Power. We are seeing more meeting planners focusing on the health and wellness of their employees and turning to Hyatt Regency Calgary for their meeting and event needs.”

Meeting planners are also provided incentives to follow Hyatt’s “Meet and be Green” program, which encourages commitments such as recycling, printing locally, shipping less, selecting local food items and using recycled products.  Meeting planners who adhere to all “Meet and be Green” practices are eligible to receive three per cent off their meeting cost.*

Hyatt Regency Calgary’s catering department works closely with meeting planners to provide healthy, locally sourced food choices, with options such as the “Anti-O” snack break, the “Stay Fit” continental breakfast, vegetarian and gluten free options, and various à la carte items in addition to traditional menu items.

Hyatt Regency Calgary also offers 11 Respire by Hyatt sleeping rooms in the hotel for guests who are sensitive to airborne particles, providing an environment where one can breathe deeply and sleep soundly.

The recent renovations to Hyatt Regency’s Calgary meeting spaces also includes the installation of state-of-the-art audiovisual systems, energy efficient lighting systems with customizable controls, new carpeting, paneling and other upgrades.

From December 2 through 31, 2011, meeting planners who book and hold a qualifying meeting at Hyatt Regency Calgary before March 31, 2012 will earn triple the rewards, including a three per cent rebate off the master bill, complimentary Internet access in paid guestrooms and triple Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points through the Hyatt Gold Passport Planner Rewards™ program.*
